Government Financing Programs -NMHC/NAA/ASHA Comments on Government-Sponsored Enterprise (GSE) Futures

8/19/2010

The National Multi Housing Council (NMHC), the National Apartment Association (NAA) and the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) are pleased to provide our recommendations on the future of the housing finance system, both its reform and the transition to a new system as it relates to the multifamily sector. In response to these questions, we also submit supporting documentation that should be considered by policymakers while they develop the appropriate course of action.

Our comments are based on a special NMHC/NAA/ASHA Government-Sponsored Enterprise (GSE) Futures Task Force. As a group, they are well qualified to identify the unique mortgage finance needs of the multifamily industry.
